This weekend, Perth saw the very slick folks behind Go Go Retro, host another – entirely successful – vintage & vinyl fair. Several of Perth’s quirkiest & loveliest vintage & antique store owners were kind enough to pack up a great selection of their wares, trek to the city, set up stalls & engage a curious & enthusiastic public with all manner of detail relating to a by-gone era that is certainly gone, but definitely not forgotten.
It’s curious that the venue for Go Go Retro was the most beautiful, architecturally stunning and completely modern & contemporary State Theatre Centre of Western Australia. It is amazing, and if you live locally and haven’t wandered in to see it, then you should…it’s been open since January 2011 & it was a first for me.
The stall owners are a wacky & charismatic bunch, whose love for their collections of furniture, trinkets, glassware, vinyl, art, jewellery, fashion, lingerie, literature & beyond was evident in their approach & knowledge of all things vintage & retro. Mad Men eat your heart out.

Shop At Northam – there is a very cute orange vase just behind the big one in the foreground of this photo – it’s now mine!
Peter – who doesn’t have a store, he just loves this stuff & any opportunity to let it shine is a good one, so far as he’s concerned. I tend to agree. This clock was very cool! Contact 0419 099 037
It was a great way to spend a very warm Spring morning, and I think the kids (both big & small) might even have had fun!
Whether retro is your thing or not, it’s certainly worth a curious look! Keep an eye on Go Go Retro’s facebook page for all of their upcoming events.
